The Green Beanery brand is authenticity. We roast coffee in-store, just as all neighbourhood coffee shops did
until about 100 years ago, before national brands like Maxwell House took over. We stress the many origins of
coffees -- not mass market or commodity blends that obscure them. And we stress connections to the
neighbourhood, which only you can provide. Unlike other franchises, which strive for a uniform look, Green
Beanery coffee shops and roasteries share a culture of quality, rather than cookie-cutter design and
architecture and layout.
A Difference in Investment
If your existing space meets the criteria for a Green Beanery establishment, we do not require that you finance
the purchase or renovation of your location. Further, you do not risk losing your location and its benefits at the
end of the franchise period.

The more you succeed, the more you help the planet. All payments that you make to Green Beanery --
whether in the initial franchise fee or in subsequent royalty payments -- directly supports the activities of Probe
International, one of the world's great charities. Probe International and Green Beanery are both part of the
Energy Probe Research Foundation, one of Canada's oldest and largest environmental organizations.

Franchise Options:
1. Coffee Shop and Roastery Franchise: $30,000 for a 6-year franchise (or the
equivalent of $5,000 per year)
Included in the initial $30,000 franchise fee is:
* Solar commercial coffee roaster
* Training on the installation, care and maintenance of the roaster
* In-store and community authorization to use Green Beanery trademarks and
trade names
* In-store and community authorization to use Green Beanery authorized
certifications (currently includes Free Trade, Fair Trade, Organic, and Jamaican
Blue Mountain Coffee)
* Labels for green or roasted coffee
Your ongoing costs:
Royalty of 5.5% of gross sales
Advertising contribution of 2% of gross sales
2. Add equipment sales to the franchise: $12,000 for a 6-year franchise (or the equivalent of an additional $2,000 per year)
You market your products in-store and in your community, we market them online to customer in your area. When online customers select your location for a pickup of a product, you get the revenue from the sale.
* Reseller pricing for all our equipment lines -- you choose which items to carry
* No minimum quantity purchase -- you automatically get the highest discount we offer resellers, which would generally give you the best markup in your area.
* Your space on the Green Beanery website (www.YourCommunity.greenbeanery.ca). We provide the content for you and maintain your portion of the site as part of our standard agreement.
* You can equip your cafe and roastery with equipment purchases at the highest-discount reseller price.
* Our 1-800 line -- we answer your phones and emails for you, take phone orders for you, provide technical support for your customers on the equipment you sell, look after your warranty claims.
Your ongoing costs:
4.5% royalty of equipment sales
1% of equipment sales for telephone support
