About the bean
This coffee, 100 % Arabic quality, washed, of very hight level and special perfection, is produced in the mountainous region of Barahona which is located in the north western part of the Dominican Republic. The Dominican Republic located in the West Indies occupies the eastern two-thirds of the island of Hispaniola, the second largest island in the Greater Antilles that it shares with Haiti. The Central Mountains, which, originate in Haiti, span the central part of the island, ending up in the south. This mountain range boasts the highest peak in the Antilles, Pico Duarte (3175 m above sea level). The coffee is grown between 1000 and 1350 meters under multi-layers of shade and canopy. The islands were created through volcanic activity making the perfect soil to grow coffee.
Santo Domngo Barahona coffee is for its nature sweet and very creamy. Extraordinarily fine with a pleasant and just perceptible sour taste it is incomparable for its persistence and aroma. Its very low rate of caffeine (0,8 - 0,9%) is peculiar. Has very smooth medium body, medium acidity, with chocolate tones.
